Kickstart your journey from learner to earner
Quantitative Trading Mentor & Financial Advisor | Earn & Learn Trading
Congratulations! You've just unlocked the Earn & Learn Starter Pack your all-in-one toolkit to fast-track your trading success.
This isn't just another eBook filled with theory. It's a practical, ready-to-use resource designed for those who are serious about turning learning into earning.
Inside this pack, you'll discover:
Most importantly: This is your first step toward working WITH a quantitative trading mentor who actually trades and teaches real people how to earn while they learn.
Most people fail at trading because they skip steps. They jump straight into "hot stocks" without understanding the foundation. The Earn & Learn system is different it's built on a proven progression that takes you from complete beginner to confident, profitable trader.
Begin by executing trades alongside me in live sessions. You're not watching you're doing. This builds confidence and shows you that profits are possible when you follow a system.
Now that you've seen results, we break down WHY each trade worked. You'll learn chart patterns, risk management, market psychology, and technical indicators but with context from real wins.
You start taking trades on your own while I'm still available for guidance. This is where theory becomes second nature. You're no longer copying you're creating your own strategy.
With a solid track record and proven system, you increase position sizes strategically. You're now managing risk like a pro and compounding gains consistently.
Most courses teach → then expect you to apply.
Earn & Learn works backward: You profit first → then understand why it worked.
This builds momentum, confidence, and real capital you can reinvest in your learning.
Professional traders don't gamble they calculate. Before every trade, I use this simple framework to determine if the potential reward justifies the risk.
For every trade you consider, fill in these four numbers:
| Field | Your Trade | Example Trade |
|---|---|---|
| Entry Price | $_______ | $50.00 |
| Stop Loss | $_______ | $48.50 |
| Target Price | $_______ | $54.00 |
| Position Size | _______ shares | 100 shares |
| Risk per Share | $_______ | $1.50 |
| Reward per Share | $_______ | $4.00 |
| Total Risk | $_______ | $150 |
| Total Reward | $_______ | $400 |
| R/R Ratio | 1:____ | 1:2.67 |
Never take a trade with less than a 1:2.5 risk-to-reward ratio.
This means for every $1 you risk, you must target at least $2.50 in profit. At 1:2.5, you only need a 35% win rate to achieve steady capital compounding.
Never risk more than a strict 1.5% maximum of your total liquid account on any single trade. If you have a $10,000 account, your maximum dollar risk per trade is strictly capped at $150.
Why? The 1.5% risk cap mathematically prevents account ruin. Even a rare 10-trade losing streak results in only a ~14% drawdown, easily recovered in 3 to 4 asymmetric winning trades.
I've seen thousands of traders come and go. The difference between winners and losers isn't intelligence or capital it's psychology. Here are the five mental rules that separate professionals from amateurs.
Amateur mindset: "I need to make $500 today!"
Pro mindset: "I'll follow my system and let the numbers work out over time."
Trading isn't about hitting home runs every day. It's about consistent, disciplined execution. Focus on the process, not daily P&L.
Amateur reaction: Doubles position size to "make it back."
Pro reaction: Closes the trade, reviews what went wrong, moves on.
Even the best traders lose 40-50% of the time. The key is keeping losses small and letting winners run. Never revenge trade.
Fear says: "This trade feels scary I'll skip it."
Greed says: "This trade is working I'll add more!"
System says: "This meets my criteria execute the plan."
Have a checklist for every trade. If it checks the boxes, take it. If not, pass. Emotions are your enemy.
Winners review their trades. Losers repeat their mistakes.
After every trade, write down:
This turns experience into wisdom.
Daily loss limit: If you lose X% of your account in a day, stop trading.
Tilt detector: If you feel angry, anxious, or desperate close your platform.
The market will be there tomorrow. Protect your capital and your mental health.
"I am not my trades. My worth is not determined by today's P&L."
Repeat this before every session. Trading is what you DO, not who you ARE.
People ask me all the time: "Carl, what does a real trading day look like?" Here's exactly how I approach the markets every single day.
The first hour (9:30-10:30 AM) has the most volume and volatility. This is where 70% of my daily profits happen. After 10:30 AM, I'm more selective unless a strong trend continues.
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM is often slow and choppy. Professional traders either step away or trade much smaller during this window. Don't force trades when volume dries up.
Trading has its own language. Here are the most important terms you'll hear in every session, broken down in plain English.
📈 Bull Market / Bullish
When prices are rising or expected to rise. Think of a bull charging forward with its horns UP.
📉 Bear Market / Bearish
When prices are falling or expected to fall. Think of a bear swiping its paw DOWN.
💰 Entry Point
The price at which you buy or sell to open a position. This is where your trade begins.
🛑 Stop Loss
A predetermined price where you'll exit a losing trade to limit damage. This is your safety net.
🎯 Take Profit / Target
The price where you'll close a winning trade to lock in gains. Know this BEFORE you enter.
📊 Support Level
A price level where a stock tends to stop falling and bounce back up. Think of it as a "floor."
📊 Resistance Level
A price level where a stock tends to stop rising and pull back down. Think of it as a "ceiling."
📉 Breakout
When price moves above resistance or below support with strong volume. Often signals the start of a big move.
📈 Trend
The general direction of price movement over time. Uptrend = higher highs and higher lows. Downtrend = lower highs and lower lows.
🔊 Volume
The number of shares traded in a given period. High volume = strong conviction. Low volume = weak moves.
📊 Candlestick
A visual way to show price movement. Green candle = price went up. Red candle = price went down.
⚡ Volatility
How much price moves up and down. High volatility = big swings (more risk, more opportunity). Low volatility = small moves.
💵 Day Trade
Buying and selling the same stock within the same trading day. You don't hold overnight.
🕒 Swing Trade
Holding a position for several days or weeks to capture a larger price move.
🎲 Risk/Reward Ratio
How much you stand to lose vs. how much you stand to gain. A 1:3 ratio means risking $1 to make $3.
📉 Pullback
A temporary reversal in an uptrend (or downtrend). Not a trend change just a brief pause.
🔴 Red Day / Green Day
Red day = you lost money. Green day = you made money. Over time, you want more green days than red.
💼 Position Size
How many shares or contracts you're trading. Larger size = more risk and reward.
Don't try to memorize everything at once. Keep this glossary handy during live sessions, and terms will become second nature as you trade.
